WHAT IS PROFHILO, AND WHAT IS THE TREATMENT USED FOR?

WHAT IS PROFHILO?

The Times claims that Profhilo is THE medication for 2019, but what and how is it used? Designed specifically for patients whose skin lacks volume and elasticity, Profhilo is an injectable skin remodelling treatment with one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid (HA) on the market.

The steady release of HA by Profhilo encourages the development of collagen and elastin, which improves skin tone, moisture, and the appearance of fine lines rather than only plumping and filling wrinkles. Better skin quality is the result, lasting up to 6 months.

HOW DOES PROFHILO WORK?

Profhilo functions as a hydrator rather than a filler since HA is hydrophilic, drawing and holding water from your body. This makes it ideal for people with skin that seems weary and dull since it makes their skin firm and radiant. Within three to five days of medication, this impact happens.

The subsequent weeks saw an increase in collagen and elastin production, which has the side effect of tightening the skin. This is helpful since, beyond the age of 30, the skin’s collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid levels gradually decline, leading to age-related changes like fine lines, wrinkles, and dull skin. Profhilo acts to reverse some of these alterations. Profhilo typically begins to have full effect two months after the second treatment.

WHAT ADVANTAGES DOES PROFHILO OFFER?

The skin’s tone, texture, moisture, and general radiance are all enhanced with the Profhilo treatment. In addition, it can support healthier and softer-looking skin and aid in increasing firmness and elasticity. Profhilo can be used to rejuvenate the neck, decollete, arms, knees, and hands in addition to the facial areas where it is most frequently applied.

WHAT DOES PROFHILO TREATMENT INVOLVE?

Pofhilo is injected twice, four weeks apart, beneath the skin’s surface. It immediately disperses beneath the skin after injection to increase hydration without requiring massage or the danger of creating lumps or nodules. Unfortunately, Profhilo is only absorbed within a 2 cm radius of the injection site, necessitating ten injection spots to treat the face.

A single Profhilo course entails two injectable treatments spaced four weeks apart, after which you can anticipate experiencing severe hydration. You’ll notice smoother, tighter skin and an improvement in the appearance of fine lines and glowing skin. Two-treatment courses can be repeated as often as every six months to keep the benefits.

WHAT ABOUT REHABILITATION?

The recovery period after treatment is brief, and you should be able to resume your regular, “mild” daily activities right away. We advise against strenuous activity and sports on the first day following treatment. We also advise against using a sauna or steam room for the first few days. For the first several days following treatment, you should also avoid prolonged exposure to the sun or UV rays.

DO ANY SIDE EFFECTS EXIST?

There is a chance of adverse effects, such as little bruising or swelling at the injection sites, as with any non-surgical aesthetic procedures. However, these rarely happen, and when they do, they usually go away fast.

For those who are allergic to hyaluronic acid or are pregnant, nursing, or both, Profhilo is not advised.
