An Insight on Bloody Diarrhea

Bloody diarrhea is a possible state of a grievous condition wherein blood is mixed in and accompanied along with the loose watery stools. The blood can seep in through any of the organ from the digestive tract, can route through mouth and conclude at the anus. It is an indication of a gastrointestinal or an internal bleeding owing to an injury or a disorder. Diarrhea which is inclusive of maroon or dark red colored blood is referred to as “hematochezia”. Black, smelly or tarry diarrhea is symptoms from descriptions of “melena”. Bloody diarrhea is also termed as dysentery which is an outcome of a bacterial infection.

Bloody diarrhea is generally seen in all the age groups and across the world population. The cause of it determines its intensity for e.g. it can be for a short time and may disappear very fast as can be due to gastrointestinal infection. But it can also transpire over a relatively longer time also known as chronic, like what it occurs because of serious inflammatory disturbances.
